Jakko and Amanda were married in  Mauritius on November 24th '98. They had first met  back in 1983 when Jakko signed as a solo artist for  Stiff records. Amanda was working at the company when  not plying her trade as a model. They would meet each  other over the years but eventually lost touch.

At the beginning of '97 Jakko's friend and former  'King Crimson' linchpin Pete Sinfield invited him to  the launch and play back party for 'Epitaph,' a box  set collection of unreleased recordings by the  original 'King Crimson.' It was at this event that  Jakko bumped into Amanda again after 4 years or so.  She was in attendance as a guest of her father Michael  Giles, the original drummer who played on 'In the  court of the Crimson King' & 'In the wake of  Poseidon'.

21 months later and they were married. On their return  from the Indian ocean the held a star studded party in  London. Photos located in the gallery
